Elana Orbuch is a Staff Attorney in the Housing Law Unit. She represents low-income tenants in eviction and housing conditions cases before the D.C. Superior Court. She also litigates housing law claims before administrative bodies, such as the D.C. Housing Authority and the Office of Administrative Hearings. Prior to joining Legal Aid DC, Elana was a law clerk for the Hon. Lynn Leibovitz in the Domestic Relations Branch and the Hon. Shana Frost Matini in the Civil Actions Branch in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Elana earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. While in law school, Elana worked as a legal intern at Public Rights Project, the Advancement Project, and in the Civil Division of the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. She also served as a student attorney in the Civil Rights Clinic where she represented clients in civil rights cases.
