Jen Jenkins is a policy manager for Legal Aid DC. Their primary focus is advocating for systemic reforms before the DC Council and other government bodies with respect to Legal Aid DC's practice areas. Since joining Legal Aid DC, Jen has also chaired the Economic Justice group within the Fair Budget Coalition and led efforts to pass and fund historic immigration laws in DC as part of the Immigrant Justice Platform.
Prior to joining Legal Aid DC, Jen worked in state government for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, where they testified and advocated before the state legislature, drafted legislation, and served on the state interagency council on homelessness. They also served as the policy lead for the State Department of Health's Sexual and Gender Minority Group.
Jen received their J.D. from the William S. Richardson School of Law and their B.A. from the University of Hawai’i West O’ahu, with honors.
