Claire Comey joined Legal Aid DC as a Staff Attorney in 2024 with the Domestic Violence and Family Law Unit. Claire received a J.D. with a certificate in public interest law and a M.S.W. with a concentration in violence and injury prevention from Washington University in St. Louis. She received a B.A. from the University of Richmond. Before joining Legal Aid, Claire worked as the 2023-2024 law fellow at the American Constitution Society. While in graduate school, Claire completed various legal internships and social work practicums focused on gender-based violence, racial justice, and the prevention of child abuse and neglect. She also worked as a student attorney in her law school’s First Amendment Clinic and served on the Title IX advisory boards at her undergraduate and graduate institutions. Claire has volunteered and worked in the anti-violence field since 2015.
