David DePriest is a Staff Attorney in the Housing Law Unit. He represents low-income tenants in eviction and housing condition cases before the D.C. Superior Court. He also litigates housing law claims before administrative bodies, such as the D.C. Housing Authority and the Office of Administrative Hearings. Prior to joining Legal Aid DC, David was a Legal Fellow at Relman Colfax PLLC, where his civil rights litigation practice focused on challenging various forms of racial and economic injustice, with a focus on discrimination in housing and in the criminal legal system.
 
David earned his J.D. from Washington University School of Law. While in law school, David worked as a student attorney at the Metropolitan Equal Housing Opportunity Council (EHOC), where he represented clients facing eviction and other housing issues. He also worked as a legal intern at the ACLU, where he primarily worked on cases related to access to abortion and freedom of speech, and served as the Notes Editor for the Washington University Jurisprudence Review. David received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Howard University.
