Matt Sokol

Matt Sokol is a Staff Attorney in the Consumer Law Unit. Matt represents homeowners facing foreclosure and consumers with debt collection matters in D.C. Superior Court.

Matt received his J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law. While in law school, Matt was a Public Interest/Public Service Scholar, the Director of Accessibility for the Student Bar Association, an Articles Editor for the American University Law Review, and served on the boards of the Disability Law Society, the Equal Justice Foundation, and the Labor and Employment Law Society. He also served as a student attorney in the Criminal Justice Clinic where he represented clients in Montgomery County, Maryland in expungement hearings and in misdemeanor cases. While in law school, Matt interned for Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities, the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, the DC Office of Police Complaints, and the DC Public Defender Service.
